Grouping Words

Retrieve and view the words in a dictionary that meet the criteria you specify (for example, a range of lesson numbers, specific parts of speech, etc.)

Display Features

  • Auto-display feature ... display words in the current group automatically by advancing to the next word after a user-defined number of seconds. Can also specify continuously looping through the group of words.
  • Delay feature ... delays the display of the Pinyin and English fields after the Chinese character(s) have been displayed. Similarly, delay the display of the Chinese characters after the Pinyin and English fields have been displayed. The length of delay is user-defined. Can be used with the auto-display feature.

Click the right mouse button on a folder to see the floating menu options.
Click the right mouse button on the back of the folder window to see other floating menu options.

 Compatible with Chinese Font Systems

By default, Chinese characters in CCT6 are displayed as bitmap pictures. These bitmap pictures (over 6,300 plus their traditional forms) are installed with CCT6. You can alternatively view Chinese characters as a font. This requires that you are simultaneously running a Chinese font system such as Chinese Star, RichWin, Chinese Partner by TwinBridge, Chinese Windows by Microsoft, etc. When viewing Chinese characters as a font, you can select any Chinese font installed on your system and set the font size.

Add your own comment, definition or sample sentence (up to 32,000 characters) for each word in every dictionary.

Add your own dictionary entry

You can add a new entry to any dictionary. You build a new Chinese word by first finding a Chinese character and then dragging & dropping it on one of the 10 blank cells comprising a Chinese word/phrase/sentence. To find a Chinese character, click the "Find a Chinese Character..." button or search/browse any of the other dictionaries. Once a Chinese character is in one of the cells, you can move it to another cell location via drag & drop. Continue to define the new word and specify other attributes such as parts of speech and then click the "Add New Word" button to save the new entry to the dictionary.

Edit any dictionary entry

Follow the same procedures above to edit or redefine any dictionary entry. It's easy!

Edit any word in any dictionary

Move Words

You can move a word from one dictionary to another dictionary (or within the same dictionary). Simply select the destination dictionary name and lesson number within that dictionary.

 Copy Words

You can copy a word from one dictionary to another dictionary (or within the same dictionary). Simply select the destination dictionary name and lesson number within that dictionary.

 Create your own dictionary

You can add your own custom dictionary to CCT6! Then you can move or copy words from other dictionaries to this new dictionary ... or build your own words using the Add New Word feature.

Locate Chinese characters by using radicals. Radicals are the root elements or sub-components of Chinese characters. In CCT6, view radicals and retrieve all characters with a specific radical. You can also find the radical for any (simplified) Chinese character on the screen.

Access the radical of a Chinese character and retrieve all characters with a specific radical!
